What we collect
When you send an enquiry through this website we collect your name, telephone number, email address, the postcode of the property, the service you are asking about, the type of property if you tell us, and anything you write in the message box. We also record the page you sent it from and the date and time.
Our web host keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, to keep the site secure and stop abuse. If you choose to call, text or email us directly, we keep a record of that conversation so we can deal with your enquiry.
How we use it and why we are allowed to
- To reply to your enquiry, arrange to look at the job and send you a quotation. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To carry out work you have booked with us and deal with anything that comes up afterwards. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract.
- To keep the records we need for tax and accounting. Our lawful basis is legal obligation.
- To protect this website from spam and misuse. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.
How we will contact you
When you send an enquiry, you agree that we can contact you about it by telephone, text message or email. You may receive an automatic text or email confirming we have your enquiry. We only contact you about your enquiry or work you have booked. We do not send marketing messages unless you have asked us to, and you can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with the companies that help us run the business, such as our website host, our email provider and the customer management system we use to keep track of enquiries, and only so they can provide that service to us. Some of these suppliers may store information outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law. We may also share information where the law requires it.
Analytics and advertising
This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies at the moment. If we ever switch them on, a banner will ask for your permission first, nothing optional will load unless you agree, and you will be able to change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link at the foot of every page.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to any work are deleted within 24 months. Records of work we have carried out, including quotations and invoices, are kept for six years to meet tax requirements, and then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to limit how we use it, object to us using it, and ask for it in a format you can take elsewhere. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
